Homes Alone moves - virtually

Homes Alone (www.homesalone.co.uk) today announced a move to larger servers to meet with demand.

The company has migrated its site from a single server platform to a multiple cluster of processors to spread the traffic load and provide a performance boost to its users. Security and data warehousing has also been improved, with a new firewall and backup procedures in place. Further performance enhancements have been delivered by using advanced data compression algorithms which can improve page loading times by up to 85%.

Mijal Raja, Managing Director, commented; “We were getting to the point where we’d outgrown our original systems, which in the midst of a recession is a nice problem to have! The transition was completed during our quietest period to minimise downtime. Users will note that browsing the site is now much quicker than before. This is just the platform that will allow us to deliver a number of feature enhancements and new services for next year.”
